A Substack 65 Million Years In The Making.
"Ooh, ah," that's how it always starts. But then later running and screaming.
Welcome to Jurassic June and Happy Pride Month everyone! Since you’re here, I’m sure you already know me, but a little introduction nonetheless. I’m Brad Jost (producer/host of The Jurassic Park Podcast, cohost on Grim Grinning Hosts) and I’m obsessed with all things film, but mostly time travel, dinosaurs and digging in the dirt. I’ve been podcasting relentlessly since 2015, with no plans to slow down any time soon. We have much to discuss!
I hope you will join me on this Substack adventure, as I’ve spared no expense… ok that’s a lie. I’m writing this hours before posting it and hoping the launch goes smoothly - I just thought that would sound cool. The plan is to use Substack as a way to reach out directly to you (my friends, family, listeners) and open up a new communication channel in the age of social media saturation and dismay. With a new Jurassic film on the horizon, the ever growing and changing theme park landscape in flux, new merchandise hitting my doorstep and the continuing saga of the war in the stars - I hope there is something of interest for you within my words.
The Jurassic Park Podcast
Jurassic June is here and we have A TON to get into this month.
NEW EPISODES - LIVE STREAMS - WATCH PARTY - AUDIO DRAMAS!
PODCAST | To kick off the month we have a State of Jurassic discussion with Chris Pugh (@chrislikesdinos, Jurassic Outpost) on the podcast feed. I was so hyped to be able to chat with Chris again and get to the bottom of what has and hasn’t been working within the Jurassic franchise, the merchandise and other content surrounding the franchise. We have a few other really cool episodes in the works with other great creators, so stay tuned!
We also are so excited to be the secondary platform for Tales From A Jurassic World (Tom Jurassic’s audio drama set after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom)! You’ll be able to check out the first run of the audio drama’s second season via it’s YouTube channel, so the podcast feed will be a place to catch up if you missed it. The series starts airing June 7th on YouTube, followed by the secondary push on the podcast feed starting June 12th.
I want to point you toward a recent conversation I had with the Showrunners and Executive Producers of Jurassic World Chaos Theory - Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley. If you haven’t listened to that yet, please check give it a listen.
LIVE STREAM | This month we have a bunch of fun ideas in store for Jurassic June and to start things off, we have Jaye Jurassick joining in on the first stream of the month. Wednesday, June 5th at 9pm EST.
Our big stream of the month will certainly be our Jurassic World Dominion watch party - it’s about time! Grab your dvd or digital copy and we’ll hit play together! Wednesday, June 19th.
VIDEO | Myself and Tom Jurassic had a great conversation about Jurassic World Chaos Theory and all of the SPOILERS surrounding the entire series. Be sure to watch this video after watching Jurassic World Chaos Theory in its entirety.
Grim Grinning Hosts
If you are new to Grim Grinning Hosts or GGH as it’s often referred to, it’s a podcast about all things pop-culture, but mostly theme parks! My GREAT friend Hunter wrangles the gaggle of co-hosts (myself included), to discuss the day to day operations of Universal, Halloween Horror Nights and Disney Parks, but also movies, music, nostalgia and so much more. Check out a sampling of our recent offerings discussing Halloween Horror Nights 33, odd merchandise from The Phantom Menace and 20 things we loved about the JAWS ride!
It’s your turn…
I want to leave you all with something to ponder and reach out about when you have free time. What does your ultimate Jurassic June look like? There are so many places to take a month long celebration of the Jurassic franchise, so I want you to reach out and let me know.
It means a lot to have you here. If you’ve ever listened to The Jurassic Park Podcast, you know what I say at the end of things…Stay safe! Be Kind! Thank you SO MUCH for reading... and enjoy!
Excited for this! Best of luck to you on this new venture.
